Renew-A-Bean
Description

This activity introduces students to the difference between renewable and non-renewable resources. It shows students that non-renewable sources will be exhausted over time. Moreover, it shows that conservation measures—ways of using less energy—along with increased use of renewable resources can slow the depletion of fossil fuels. This activity will also give students an opportunity to practice charting and graphing skills, and working with percentages.
Time Required: one to two 45-minute class periods
Language: English
Learning Objectives
Students will understand:
• the eventual depletion of fossil fuel resources
• the effect of changing rates of energy use on the future
