When the Extremes Become the Means (pilot)
Description

This module explores extreme weather patterns and the rate of occurance of such events. After reading through the scenario and using the additional resources provided, students complete investigations to further their understanding and consolidate their knowledge. All of the investigations and their difficulty level are listed below. They can be downloaded in full from the 'When the Extremes Become the Means Module' link.
The NASA Global Climate Change Education/Earth Science Education Alliance (ESSEA) modules include situations, connections to standards, resources and sample investigations. Unless labeled K-4 the modules can be adapted for middle and high school students.
Investigations:
- EPA: Expedition: A Student's Guide to Global Climate Change (beginner).
- MY NASA DATA: Is Grandpa Right, Were Winters Colder When He Was A Boy? (beginner).
- NASA Climate Kids (beginner).
- ESSEA: Earth System Science Modules (intermediate)
- My NASA data Investigations: Hurricanes, factors that influence climate (advanced).
- ESSEA: Acquiring Data (advanced).
