Oil Pressure: Life in the oilsands of northern Alberta - CBC
Description

There is an ongoing debate on whether or not the oil sands are beneficial or harmful, with perspectives being that the oils sands are the key to Canada's economic salvation but also a contributor to climate change and environmental destruction. For those who work on the rigs, this debate is consistently heard, and dealt with a response like, "... who doesn't drive, who doesn't have things made with petroleum products?"
Linked to this article is the National's short documentary "Up Close: Oilsands," which provides a view of one of Cenovus Energy's operations at Christina Lake, with some insights about the operation, and the oilsands from several Cenovus employees.
