Heavy Oil - Devon Energy Corporation
Description

Devon Energy Corporation has thermal heavy oil operation sites, called Jackfish, in the Athabasca oil sands in Alberta. Devon Energy uses an extraction process called steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD), and when Jackfish started production in 2007, it was the first commercial SAGD operation to rely entirely on saline water for production. More details about the Jackfish operations and heavy oil key stats can be found through Devon Energy's website.
Devon Energy Corporation Canada also has an award-winning in-situ wildlife mitigation and monitoring program, which includes long-term wildlife monitoring programs, extensive commitments to reducing project-level impacts, and wildlife research and conservation.
