The Energy and Environment Education Institute, Teacher Tours- Inside Education
Description

The Institute is a professional development program providing teachers with information and experiences to share with their students. In 2013, 25 teachers participated in the Institute, travelling to Fort McMurray to see oil sands operations and to Pincher Creek to experience renewable energy. Teachers learned about primary energy sources powering Alberta including an investigation of the oil sands, coal, coal-bed methane and alternative and renewable sources. Speakers shared their perspectives on energy and the environment through presentations and hands-on demonstrations.
