The website focuses on the oil industry mainly from the producer’s perspective but includes information regarding what the oil sands are as well as how oil is extracted, the relationship of some Aboriginal groups with the major oil companies, as well as detailed geographic and economic information regarding the communities surrounding the oil sands. The website also contains lists of companies involved in the oil industry in Canada.
In general, the CAPP site paints a favourable picture of the oil sands. Negative environmental and social impacts are presented as "challenges" and solutions are emphasized. However, it represents an important stakeholder’s perspective on the issue in an easy-to-navigate format.
